I want to preface by stating that planning trips are not my cuppa-
As much as I like new destinations, I don't enjoy long journeys, and these days with Olivia's special needs we tend to stay closer to home, which is Houston for the meantime...
But, on Saturday afternoon, when Keith spontaneously said,
"Let's go to Morgan's Wonderland."
I immediately responded, "Let's!"
Morgan's Wonderland is the world’s first theme park designed with special-needs individuals in mind. It's a completely wheelchair-accessible park, nestled in San Antonio, that features more than twenty-five inclusive activities. It is free to those with cognitive or physical disabilities, however, paying patrons need not a diagnosis.
I cannot put into words what it was like to walk through the entrance and first see the swings.
Then there were the multitude of water-parks equipped with a wheelchair valet (where we were able to switch out Olivia's heavy duty ride, for a nimble waterproof one- free of charge).
Because of Morgan's Wonderland, Keith and I were able to spend the entire day fully immersed in the beauty that is Olivia. No restrictions, no explanations, no worries.
I speak for the three of us when I say, we'll forever cherish this experience.
